Sebrae´s Virtual library congregates catalog on entrepreneurship

Initiative is from Paraíba's unit, and uses Light Infocon Tecnologia S/A´s tool

The Brazilian Micro and Small Bussiness Support Service of Paraíba (Sebrae-PB) firmed contract of partnership with Light Infocon Tecnologia S/A, that develops software in the city of Campina Grande, 120 kilometers of João Pessoa, to create a virtual library destined to the entrepreneurs of Brazil. It's a complete new project, that has for purpose to congregate, in one single repository, articles, books, texts, software, video and photographs related to entrepreneurship.

The Virtual Library of the Entrepreneur will be online next day 21st, at the following address: www.bte.com.br. according to the coordinator of Information Systems of the Sebrae in Paraíba, Valdey Ventura Paulo, the investments to make this projet a reality adds to R$ 150.000,00.

"Our intention is that Sebrae, by the virtual library, causes an interaction with the Brazilian society, with the purpose of producing and picking-up knowledge in entrepreneurship", says Paulo.

Catalog

In the beggining, according to the responsible for the library, Cristiane de Oliveira Caspar, the repository will host all available material about entrepreneurship over the Internet. Later, works developed by the university students, governmental agencies and private institutions will be added to the repository.

A publication to gain space in the repository of the Entrepeneur´s Virtual Library, however, will have that to be approved by the bolter of the management, in João Pessoa. The articles and other works will be evaluated and they'll only be placed in the library if really are in the entrepreneurship context. The access to the Virtual Library will be free.

Cristiane says that before the library being accessible to the public, at least 55 people, in all Brazil, already had showed interest in presenting works on the subject. "Anyone who wants to start up a small business or to have access the business-oriented plans will be able to find these information in the database", says the Sebrae's coordinator of information technology.

According to the chairman of the board of Management of Light Infocon Tecnologia S/A, Alexandre Moura, the project will use the technology "lightbase", a multimedia tool for text retrieval. Today, this technology is used by important agencies, institutions and entities in Brazil, China and the Europe. In Brazil, among the customers are Bradesco and agencies of the Federal Government.

The Light Infocon technology will also allow that the library of Paraíba' Sebrae encloses all the 26 units of the institution in Brazil. "We'll expand the library for all the units, in all states, and assign to each one of them the coordination of determined specific questions, emphasizes Paulo. It will be the chance of the Sebrae System to make available in the library the knowledge that it produces. "If Paraíba' Sebrae dominates technology in the discovery of economic vocations, for example, will be responsible for the sector of the library that goes to enclose all the subjects correlated to this question, and so on ", he says.
